On April 14, 2010, before a EDLA Federal jury trial Glenn McGovern obtained a judgment against Thibodaux Police Detective Arlene Rodriguez for $122,000 including $60,000 in punitive damages plus attorney fees to be awarded for malicious prosecution and false arrest of a Thibodaux, La. handman. The court did not allow the plaintiff a police expert and let in 26 yrs. old prior criminal convictions and McGovern still won a record judgment using his new technique.

Glenn C. McGovern was awarded attorney fees and costs totaling over $57,000 in addition to the $122,000 compensatory and punitive damages jury awarded in Hebert v. Rodriguez a police case in the EDLA. There was no settlement offered before trial.
